Top 5 Wedding Destinations in New England

New England, with its charming landscapes, rich history, and idyllic charm, offers a plethora of breathtaking wedding destinations. Whether you envision a romantic seaside ceremony or a rustic affair in the mountains, this region has it all. As your East Coast based wedding photographer, Kelsie will take you on a journey through the top locations to get married in New England.

1. Newport, Rhode Island

Known for its Gilded Age mansions and breathtaking coastal views, Newport, Rhode Island, is a dreamy wedding destination. Imagine exchanging vows in a grand mansion with lush gardens or by the sparkling ocean. Castle Hill Inn and Belle Mer are two of my favorite Newport, RI venues. Newport offers a blend of historical charm and seaside beauty, creating an atmosphere of enchantment that will leave you and your guests mesmerized.

2. Martha’s Vineyard & Nantucket, Massachusetts

With its picturesque beaches, quaint towns, and charming lighthouses, the islands off Massachusetts are a beloved wedding destination. From intimate beachfront ceremonies to elegant tented receptions, these iconic islands provides a romantic ambiance like no other. Three of my favorite venues include: Wauwinet Inn, Farm Neck Golf Club, and White Elephant Nantucket. Immerse yourself in the coastal beauty and let Nantucket or Martha’s Vineyard be the backdrop for your unforgettable wedding celebration.

3. Stowe, Vermont

For nature lovers seeking a serene and rustic wedding experience, the Green Mountains of Vermont offer an ideal setting. Stowe, Vermont is one of my favorites. The Top Notch Resort and Edson Hill being some among my favorites. Surrounded by lush forests, towering peaks, and picturesque meadows, this region exudes natural beauty and tranquility. Exchange vows in a mountain lodge or beneath a canopy of trees, and let the mountain air and breathtaking scenery create a magical atmosphere for your special day.

4. Southern Maine

Maine Wedding Photographer

With its vibrant waterfront, charming cobblestone streets, and delectable seafood, Maine, is a delightful wedding destination. Picture saying “I do” in a historic venue or a quaint chapel, followed by a reception in a waterfront venue with panoramic views of the oceanfront. My top 3 venues include, Bar Harbor Inn, Nonantum Resort, and The Viewpoint Hotel. Maine is a blend of coastal charm, cultural attractions, and culinary delights will ensure a wedding experience that is both memorable and distinctive.

5. Lower Connecticut

Located just outside of New York City is the area of Fairfield County, Connecticut. With its charming small towns, quant beachside yacht clubs and boasting country clubs, Connecticut is one of my favorite wedding destinations. Slightly partial, having grown up in the lower, Fairfield County region of Connecticut as well. A few of my favorite destination venues include, Lounsbury House in Ridgefield, The Delamar in Greenwich and Woodway Country Club in Darien. All uniquely beautiful and grand in their own way.

Whether you decide to get married on the coast or in the mountains, New England boasts some of the most beautiful wedding venues in the United States.
